The Problem

Group drives are
a mess.

Ask any BMW Car Club organizer, any Porsche Fun Run leader, any motorcycle club captain. The moment the first toll gate hits, the convoy fragments. Members guess where to exit. Someone ends up at the wrong meeting point. The WhatsApp group explodes with "where are you guys???"

The Saturday Fun Run Chaos

30 BMWs leave BGC for Tagaytay at 6 AM. By the second toll plaza, 10 have peeled off to refuel. Nobody knows where they went. The lead driver assumes they'll catch up. They don't. Three end up at the wrong café. The club leader spends the morning on WhatsApp calls instead of enjoying the drive they organized.

Why Current Tools Fail

WhatsApp + Google Maps is the default — and the problem. Built for two people texting, not 30 vehicles coordinating at 100 km/h. Motorcycle intercoms (Sena, Cardo) solve voice but cost ₱10-25K per rider, cap at 15 members, and don't work in cars. Premium CarPlay has no convoy mode. Filipino number coding? Nobody handles it.

  • 01
The "elastic band" effectGroups split at every stop light, toll, or gas stop. Nobody knows who's where. Re-grouping eats 20% of every drive.
  • 02
Battery death mid-driveWhatsApp live location drains phones in 2-3 hours. Drivers go dark mid-drive, cannot call for help.
  • 03
Brand fragmentationSena/Cardo don't talk to each other. CarPlay doesn't talk to Android Auto. No cross-vehicle coordination exists.
  • 04
No safety layerA vehicle falls behind or breaks down — hours pass before anyone notices. No crash detection. No shared hazard alerts.
  • 05
No Filipino tool existsGlobal apps serve European motorcycles. Zero PH localization. No GCash. No number-coding compliance. No Filipino UI.

The Solution

One platform.
Every vehicle. One convoy.

ConFri is the first multi-vehicle group coordination platform built for Southeast Asia. Motorcycle riders, BMW club members, Porsche Fun Runs, supercar groups — all coordinating in real time on a single app. No brand lock-in. No hardware required. Built PH-first.

Convoy Mode

Create rooms, assign a leader, travel in perfect sync with lane-level accuracy. Members can be organized into sub-groups of 20, 30, or 50 for large events.

Lane Intelligence

3D lane guidance, junction previews, flyover vs underpass detection in real time. Every convoy member sees exactly where to be.

Toll Awareness

Automatic toll detection with fee estimates, payment methods, and cost optimization. Know what you'll spend before you leave.

Coding Compliance ● PH-NATIVE

Vehicle plate number coding detection with route planning that respects MMDA UVVRP driving restrictions. Zero global competitor has this.

Group Comms

Push-to-talk walkie-talkie, group chat, and quick action alerts for your convoy. Works with helmet Bluetooth or CarPlay/Android Auto.

Live Tracking

Real-time position, speed, and distance monitoring for every convoy member. Automatic crash detection triggers SOS to the group.

04 / 11
Why Now

Four prerequisites just converged.

ConFri wasn't possible in 2020. The stack wasn't ready. Nor was the market — PH car/motorcycle sales were pre-boom, GCash was pre-mass-adoption, mobile lane intelligence didn't exist. By 2026, every foundational layer has shipped.

2022

Smartphone saturation across vehicle owners

Over 75% of PH motorcycle riders and 90%+ of car owners carry smartphones. The device layer is universal.

2023

Automotive-grade mobile sensing matures

Smartphone cameras + ML now deliver lane intelligence and hazard detection that previously required dedicated dashcam hardware. This enables our proprietary Live Sense™ engine.

2024

GCash hits 70% PH penetration

PH mobile money infrastructure makes consumer subscriptions viable. Pre-2024, collecting ₱299/month from Filipinos was an API nightmare.

2024-2025

Post-pandemic vehicle boom

PH motorcycle sales +7% YoY. 475K+ new cars sold 2024. United Car Clubs PH, BMWCCP, Porsche Club PH, Manila Sports Car Club all actively organizing drives.

2025-2026

AI-leveraged dev velocity

A 3-person team with Claude Max ships what a 6-person team shipped in 2022. Consumer apps that couldn't be capital-efficient in Manila now can.

Market Size

Three segments. One platform.

We're not building a motorcycle app. We're building the multi-vehicle convoy platform for Southeast Asia. Same product, same infrastructure, three revenue segments from Day 1.

Competition

Nobody has all of this.

Motorcycle apps don't serve cars. Family tracking doesn't do convoys. Solo navigation doesn't do groups. No app on the planet handles PH number coding. No one has multi-vehicle convoy coordination for PH/SEA.

Pricing & Funnel

7-day trial. Then pick a tier.

Every new user gets full Pro features for 7 days — no credit card required. The trial spans one weekend drive, which is the natural usage cycle for convoy groups. At Day 7, they pick Basic ₱100, Pro ₱299, or Max ₱699 (or downgrade to read-only). Forced decision triples paying conversion vs freemium: 10.3% of installs subscribe, not 4% — and cash hits 3 weeks faster than a 30-day trial.

22 terms that shape the deck

Every highlighted term in the slides above links down to its definition here — what it is, how it's computed, why it matters, and what the ConFri numbers actually signal. Click to expand.

MRRMonthly Recurring Revenue
What it is
Predictable subscription revenue billed every month from active paying subscribers. Excludes one-time fees, refunds, and chargebacks.
How it's computed
Σ (active subscriptions × monthly price). Annual subs count as price ÷ 12.
Why it matters
The heartbeat of a SaaS business — steady, predictable cash flow investors can forecast against. Growth in MRR is the single best leading indicator of enterprise value.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri ramps from ₱60K MRR in M1 to ₱2.25M MRR by M12 — a 37× increase. End-of-Y1 MRR run-rate is ₱2.25M, scaling to ₱5M (Y2) and ₱10.5M (Y3).
ARRAnnual Recurring Revenue
What it is
The annualised run-rate of recurring subscription revenue — MRR × 12. Standard unit for SaaS valuation multiples.
How it's computed
MRR × 12
Why it matters
Investors value SaaS on ARR multiples (e.g. 5-15× ARR). A ₱1M MRR business is a ₱12M ARR business — fundraising and comparisons all happen in ARR terms.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri exits Y1 at ₱27M ARR (~$482K), targets $1.07M ARR end-Y2 and $2.25M ARR end-Y3.
ARPUAverage Revenue Per User
What it is
Mean monthly revenue contributed by each paying user across all subscription tiers.
How it's computed
Total MRR ÷ Paying users
Why it matters
Exposes pricing power and tier-mix health. Rising ARPU means users upgrade; falling ARPU means downgrade pressure.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri blended ARPU is ₱260/mo (50% × ₱100 Basic + 35% × ₱299 Pro + 15% × ₱699 Max). Segment ARPUs: Motorcycle ₱379, Car ₱429, Supercar ₱699.
CACCustomer Acquisition Cost
What it is
The fully-loaded average cost to acquire one paying customer — ad spend, sales, content, and all related marketing.
How it's computed
(Marketing + Sales spend over period) ÷ New paying customers in that period
Why it matters
CAC directly constrains unit economics. A low CAC means capital goes further; a rising CAC is the earliest warning sign of channel saturation.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri blended CAC is ₱238 — 30% organic (₱0 cost) + 70% paid at CPI ₱42 and 10.3% install-to-paying conversion.
LTVCustomer Lifetime Value
What it is
Total gross-margin revenue a customer is expected to generate over their entire active tenure.
How it's computed
ARPU × Average tenure (months) × Gross margin %
Why it matters
Sets the economic ceiling on what you can spend to acquire a customer. Higher LTV unlocks bigger CAC budgets, which means faster growth.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri LTV = ₱260 × 18 mo × 88% = ₱4,059 per customer.
LTV:CACLTV-to-CAC Ratio
What it is
How many pesos of lifetime value each peso of acquisition spend produces. The single most important unit-economics metric in SaaS.
How it's computed
LTV ÷ CAC
Why it matters
Conventional thresholds: 1× is break-even, 3× is investable, 5× is strong, 10×+ is world-class. Below 3× and you can't grow profitably.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri base case is 10× (₱4,059 ÷ ₱238). Bear case (half conversion, double churn) still holds 3×; bull case exceeds 25×.
CAC PaybackCAC Payback Period
What it is
Number of months for a customer's gross-margin revenue to recover the cost spent to acquire them.
How it's computed
CAC ÷ (ARPU × Gross margin %), in months
Why it matters
Shorter payback = less working capital tied up in growth. World-class benchmark is under 6 months; under 12 is healthy.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri CAC Payback is 2.2 months — capital recycles in under a quarter, meaning growth compounds rapidly without external funding.
EBITDAEarnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization
What it is
An operating-profitability measure that strips out capital-structure and accounting noise to show cash-generating ability.
How it's computed
Revenue − Cost of goods sold − Operating expenses (excluding interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization)
Why it matters
Standard comparison metric across companies and industries; investors and acquirers value companies on EBITDA multiples.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri Y1 EBITDA: −₱3.55M (investment year). Y2: +₱10M (+24% margin). Y3: +₱40M (+42% margin) — exceeds the Rule of 40 threshold.
Rule of 40SaaS Rule of 40
What it is
Growth rate percentage plus EBITDA margin percentage. A composite health check balancing growth against profitability.
How it's computed
Revenue growth % + EBITDA margin % ≥ 40%
Why it matters
Originally a Sequoia heuristic: sub-40 companies are either growing too slowly or burning too fast. Above 40 signals a durable business.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri Y2 Rule of 40 is 62% — well above threshold. Y3 scales to ~85% as profitability widens.
Gross MarginGross Margin
What it is
Percentage of revenue remaining after direct cost-of-goods-sold (hosting, payment processing, support that scales with revenue).
How it's computed
(Revenue − COGS) ÷ Revenue × 100%
Why it matters
Determines how much every revenue peso contributes to fixed overhead, marketing, and profit. SaaS targets are 75-90%.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri gross margin is 88% — driven by low mobile-app infrastructure cost, with payment processing (3.5% via GCash) as the main variable expense.
Install → PayingInstall-to-Paying Conversion
What it is
Percentage of total app installs that become paying subscribers within the funnel window.
How it's computed
Paying subscribers ÷ Total installs × 100%
Why it matters
The top-of-funnel efficiency metric for any mobile SaaS. Doubling this rate cuts CAC in half without changing a single line of ad copy.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri forced 7-day trial funnel converts at 10.3% — 2.5× the 4% freemium industry norm. Day-7 paywall + ₱100 save-account tier is the lever.
CPICost Per Install
What it is
Average cost for one app install driven by paid advertising (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.).
How it's computed
Paid-ad spend ÷ Installs driven
Why it matters
CPI × (1 ÷ install-to-paying rate) = your paid CAC. Low CPI + high install→paying conversion = excellent paid unit economics.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri blended CPI is ₱42 across Meta, Google Search/YouTube, and TikTok — heavily front-loaded in M1-M5.
TAMTotal Addressable Market
What it is
The total annual revenue opportunity if a company captured 100% of its potential customer base at its target price.
How it's computed
Target customer count × Annual revenue per customer (at target penetration)
Why it matters
Sizes the market ceiling for investor return upside. A ₱1B TAM constrains how big the outcome can be, regardless of execution quality.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri PH TAM is ₱9.1B/year at full penetration; SEA expansion opens a 28M-user market across 5 countries.
GTMGo-To-Market
What it is
The strategy for how a product reaches its customers — channels, partnerships, messaging, sales motion.
How it's computed
Not a number — a plan combining channel mix, targeting, pricing, and partnerships.
Why it matters
Execution separates investable companies from good ideas. A brilliant product with no GTM dies; an average product with a great GTM wins the market.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri GTM blends influencer campaigns (Cong TV, BigBoy Cheng, Norvin), 4-city launch events (Manila, Cebu, Davao, CDO), and club partnerships (BMWCCP, Porsche Club PH, UCCP, MSCC).
ESOPEmployee Stock Option Pool
What it is
Equity reserved for future employee incentive stock options — pre-allocated so that hiring doesn't dilute founders or investors unexpectedly.
How it's computed
Typically 10-20% of post-money shares, set aside before the seed round closes.
Why it matters
Attracts talent without premium cash salaries. Standard in venture-backed startups — skipping it creates messy future dilution.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri is not allocating an ESOP pool at seed — founders retain 90% post-money and hires through M18 run on allowance + performance-based equity grants. A formal ESOP pool will be carved out at Series A.
G&AGeneral & Administrative
What it is
Non-product operating expenses — office, legal, accounting, utilities, HR, banking, insurance.
How it's computed
Sum of overhead line items that don't scale with revenue.
Why it matters
Fixed overhead that must be covered before any profit. Keeping G&A lean is how early-stage startups extend runway.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri G&A is ~₱115K/mo: office ₱80K (Parqal by Aseana), utilities ₱15K, legal & accounting ₱20K.
SaaSSoftware as a Service
What it is
Software delivered as an ongoing subscription over the internet, rather than a one-time license install. The customer rents, they don't buy.
How it's computed
Not applicable — a business model, not a metric.
Why it matters
Recurring revenue + high gross margins + network effects + continuous product improvement = best-in-class business model for venture returns.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri is mobile SaaS with four tiers (Trial, Basic, Pro, Max) and an Enterprise Fleet Convoy product. Subscriptions via GCash + Apple/Google billing.
SEASoutheast Asia
What it is
The 5 target expansion markets: Philippines (home), Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia. Shared traits: high motorcycle/car ownership, mobile-money adoption, no localized convoy tool.
How it's computed
Not applicable.
Why it matters
Each market has a similar playbook: convert the biggest motorcycle/car clubs, localize payment and language, partner with local influencers.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri PH launches June 2026; Vietnam expansion targeted M15 (Aug 2027), self-funded from Y1 surplus. 28M combined addressable users post-PH.
MMDAMetro Manila Development Authority
What it is
Government agency that manages Metro Manila traffic, urban planning, and public-safety regulation. Operator of the UVVRP (number-coding) scheme.
How it's computed
Not applicable — a regulator.
Why it matters
Every Manila driver plans around MMDA rules daily. An app that integrates compliance saves real time and avoids real fines.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri is the only convoy app natively aware of MMDA-UVVRP — routes adjust around coding bans, which creates a PH-specific moat.
UVVRPUnified Vehicular Volumetric Regulation Program
What it is
MMDA's number-coding scheme: vehicles with plate endings in specific digits are banned from Metro Manila roads on specific weekdays (7am-8pm).
How it's computed
Plate-ending digit → banned weekday (0/1 Mon, 2/3 Tue, 4/5 Wed, 6/7 Thu, 8/9 Fri).
Why it matters
Globally unique. No international navigation app handles this; a Filipino driver using Waze still has to check coding manually.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri route planner respects UVVRP restrictions by default, warning users about coding violations before the drive. Zero global competitor has this.
OpsOperations (Budget Category)
What it is
The non-marketing bucket of the Y1 budget — everything needed to run the business day-to-day.
How it's computed
Team salaries + infrastructure + office + G&A + contingency
Why it matters
Fixed overhead determines runway: ₱1M/mo budgeted means 20 months of survival on a ₱20M seed, before any revenue.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri Ops is ₱12M of the ₱20M seed: ₱5.95M actual line-items + ₱6.05M contingency buffer. Burn averages ~₱730K/mo with 27% headroom.
W4 retentionWeek-4 Retention
What it is
The percentage of new users still actively using the app 4 weeks after install — the standard mobile-SaaS product-market-fit gate.
How it's computed
Active users at Week 4 ÷ Installs in cohort
Why it matters
Below 20% W4 retention for a subscription app = no PMF; 40%+ signals durable habit formation. Leading indicator of LTV.
Impact on ConFri
ConFri beta PMF gate is 40% W4 retention at 500+ users before M0 launch. Clears investors' PMF bar before scale-up spend starts.
